Also called 'Varamahalakshmi Nombu' this festival is widely celebrated across the south, where the rituals are performed by women for their own well being and that of all their family members. It is believed that worshipping the Goddess lakshmi (also called Ashtalakshmi) on this day will grant us eight blessings that comprises of Wealth, Earth, Wisdom, Love, Fame, Peace, Contentment, and Strength.
